WAYS TO REACH ME:

Srey Non Bo is an international Global Mission Fellow with the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries, engaged in a two-year term of service.

The Global Mission Fellows program takes young adults ages 20-30 out of their home environments and places them in new contexts for mission experience and service. The program has a strong emphasis on faith and justice. Global Mission Fellows become active parts of their new local communities. They connect the church in mission across cultural and geographical boundaries. They grow in personal and social holiness and become strong young leaders working to build just communities in a peaceful world.

Srey Non is a member of Life Presbyterian Church in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. “I’m a Sunday school teacher, a church keeper, and an adult worship service and praise song leader,” she said. “I plan and direct children’s church services to communicate moral and biblical teachings via stories.”

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from Life University, Sihanoukville.

“I’ve done my best to serve God according to his will,” Srey Non said. “I stay connected with God by reading the Bible every day and meditating on it day and night. Understanding God’s word adds depth to my spiritual life, protects me from deception, strengthens me to resist temptation, clarifies the Holy Spirit’s voice and enhances my ability to persevere in difficult times.

“As God has called me to serve in the local church where I am today,” she continued, “I pray at all times. Some of the persecuted nonbelievers who live near the church bothered me. As a reply, God shielded me and instructed me to be patient and calm; only God can handle these situations. Prayer has the potential to change me from the inside out, bending me to God’s will. Before I do or plan to do anything, I pray to God first because I believe that only God has the power to turn a bad situation into a good one.”

Srey Non cherishes opportunities to gather with other believers, both in person and virtually on Zoom. “We know that the day of Jesus’ return is approaching,” she said. “As the Bible says in Hebrews 10:25, NIV, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

“I have a strong sense that God has called me to serve him,” Srey Non said. “God has a great plan for me and his people. The Bible reveals God’s will, as well as Jesus’ Great Commission to preach the gospel to all nations. God has not only called me to believe in him, but also to serve with love and faithfulness. God called me to preach the gospel to my family, neighbors and people in other countries throughout the world.

“With a servant’s heart,” Srey Non added, “whatever God has prepared or wherever God has commanded me, I must go. I cannot deny it; I must faithfully serve God, no matter how small or large the work.”
