Manyeza, Tendai
A missionary serving through the Global Health program with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, Dr. Tendai Manyeza, MD, serves as a medical doctor of The United Methodist Church Hospital in Kissy, Sierra Leone.
Nurtured in a United Methodist family, Tendai was actively involved in church activities from a young age. “I became aware of God’s presence in my life during one of the many revivals I used to attend at my rural home,” he shares.
Born in Zimbabwe, Dr. Manyeza attended the University of Zimbabwe in Harare where he earned his medical degree. He worked in Harare and Parirenyatwa Central hospitals. He also worked in Zimbabwe as the Administrator and Chief Medical Officer before assuming his current position as a medical doctor in 2018.
Tendai has served the United Methodist Church as a district finance person and conference medical secretary in Zimbabwe. He was also a part-time lecturer in the health sciences department at Africa University.
“I am in the healing ministry because God has a purpose for me in that ministry. I believe I am still operating in God’s plan by responding to this call to mission. I shall do my best to serve my God and all people he assigns me to serve.”
Tendai is married and his wife is a missionary in Sierra Leone. They are the parents of four children.
