Creation care worship resources
Creation care themes emerge in worship through Scripture, prayers, psalms and hymns. Bringing intentional focus to these themes can awaken your congregation to the Christian call to steward God’s creation. While songs and stories of nature appear in liturgical resources, some churches set aside intentional time to focus on the care of creation.
Earth Day
Earth Day is April 22 and churches typically observe it during the month of April. It is an opportunity to reflect on the goodness of God’s creation and the human responsibility to steward it through worship, education and action.
Season of Creation
Season of Creation is celebrated during the four Sundays of September that precede World Communion Sunday and St. Francis Day. This is an alternate liturgical season during Ordinary Time with lectionary-based themes and scriptures.
