Advance #3022161
Project Information
Upgrading five health facilities to bring medical services to rural communities in east Zimbabwe
Describe the need affecting community
The six rural health centers under the Zimbabwe East Annual Conference are not up to standard Government recommended model. There are new services that the facilities now offer but the infrastructure has never been improved to accommodate these services. Malaria testing, HIV testing/primary care counseling now being offered at rural health center facility level as well as dispensing of ARVs which has been recently decentralized by the MoH to these centers are all new services that the facilities never used to manage when they were established.
How will this Advance project help to address the need?
The project will address the space shortage through the expansion of the facilities thereby affording patients privacy and decency as well as timely attention without having to wait.
Describe the primary goal of the project
Upgrade 5 UMC health facilities to government standard model.
Describe the change you would like to see in the community as a result of this Advance project
The communities choosing the UMC health centers for health management and care and the UMC health staff maintaining dignity of their clients.
