Nichols, Elizabeth

Elizabeth (Lisa) Lamb Nichols is a deaconess serving as a Church and Community Worker. She is executive director of the Jubilee Project, Inc. A facility in Sneedville, TN , that provides food security, safe and healthy housing, access to clean water, and ministries that focus on spiritual development, socialization and education. “Jubilee Project is known as a ‘Mission Close to Home.’ Volunteers, work teams, and supporters live out their faith and call to be in ministry by sharing and working with Jubilee through home repair, food items, and supporting ministries with women and youth.”

The mission of the center is to create a world where everyone has enough, where those who have more share with glad and generous hearts, and where those who have less find relief from oppression and hope for the future.

Lisa previously served as the executive director of the Henry Fork Center. Lisa says, “I have seen the staff and students work together to share God’s love through words and actions. As the students learn the history of God’s people, they are called to respond to God’s love and invite others to join the journey.” She has also worked as director of afterschool programs for elementary students at the St. Andrews Center and and South Chattanooga Recreation Center, Cub Scouts and ESOL high school students. She also served as executive director of the St. Elmo/Alton Park Partners, both in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Lisa enjoys reading, cross-stitching, hiking, and biking. She uses art and outdoor activities to teach children and youth about God’s creation and about God’s love and care for all creation.

A native of Bristol, Tennessee, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education in 1980 from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia.

Lisa has two adult daughters – Sara and her husband Andrew live and work in Farmville, VA; Jessica is completing her senior year at Birmingham Southern College in Alabama.
